A little look at an upcoming comic I’m working on!

Text: The Orc & Her Bride, A Comic by Zoe Maxine. Image: An orc woman in a fur-lined cape looks equally surprised as the dark skinned elf woman in a cream princess dress the orc is holding in her arms.

An orc woman in light, dirtied armour stands with a giant axe on top of a pile of bodies, looking exhausted and panting.

The orc woman looks over at three shadowy figures, saying "Don't tell me there's more of them." The figures emerge, revealing themselves as older citizens. "Mistress, please, have mercy." The orc women is surprised, then mutters, "Not looking forward to this part." She stands up straight and says to them, "I will not harm the unarmed." Relieved, the main older gent says, "Thank you, Mistress." Looking down, the orc says, "I don't deserve your thanks. I have killed many of your brethren."

The two elderly people share a significant look and one says "our soldiers, yes." Then they ask, "Mistresss, where do you come from?" "Why have you done this?" With a dark look the orc woman says, "I am from Eskerfort." The next panel shows a burning village with distant soldiers in the background and the orc woman on her knees in the foreground. "And because I am from Eskerfort." With downcast look, the elderly folk say, "Ah."

Looking concerned, the orc woman says, "Are you asking me to be executed? For Regicide?" As the elfin woman is doing something, the bearded one puts his hands on his hips and looks up sternly. "No, Warrior, we are asking you to take responsibility."The elfin woman holds the circlet up to the orc. It shines. "Our laws are clear," she says, "Whoever kills the king becomes the new king." The orc stares ahead, eyes becoming pinpricks. "What?" The next panel has her dressed in a fur lined cape with the circlet on her head, her hair being brushed. She has the exact same expression on her face. "what?" The last panel has her sitting at the head of a long table with all the elfin people enjoying themselves around her. "what"
